Degree is a dual gender brand, and last year’s "stress meter" campaign did an outstanding job of talking to women.
This time, we needed to demonstrate to men that Degree would work for them.
We decided on a product demo in very masculine situations: men encountering different levels of stress. If Degree could respond to the most extreme level, surely it could handle the average guy’s needs.
The campaign surpassed all expectations. In addition to high awareness and entertainment scores, purchase intent increased 15% for women and 20% for men. As soon as the advertising started to air, we saw an immediate increase in dollar share.
